11 Moldovan athletes take part in the Special Olympics Summer World Games 2019, held in the capital of the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi, on 14-21 March. The delegation of our country participated in the opening ceremony.

Our athletes are just about to enter the competitions of three sporting disciplines: football, swimming and Boccia.

The current edition includes 7500 athletes from over 190 countries. Moreover, 20 thousand volunteers are involved in the organization. The Special Olympics Summer World Games are held every four years.

It is the biggest sports event for people with intellectual disabilities.
