Today, the Government approved the draft Decision "On some measures to streamline the activity of the Single National Service for Emergency Calls 112. It foresees the increase of 112 employees, from 82 to 119 people, with the increase of the number of calls made to the unique number 112.
"For the qualitative service of 112 call traffic and in order to increase the level of protection of the population by reducing the response time for emergency calls, it is proposed to increase the number of 112 Service Operators with 36 people and to change the staffing of the Service 112", said Minister Chiril Gaburici.
As a result of the passage of all calls to emergency numbers 901, 902, 903 as of July 1, 2018, a substantial increase in call flow to 112 has been confirmed. Currently, 112 services record over 13,000 daily calls emergency, compared to about 7300 previous calls. For these reasons, the number of operators will instead be increased from 15 to 27.
The increase in the number of 112 Service Operators will be achieved in the context of diminishing and unifying staff (dispatchers) from the emergency services (police, fire brigade, ambulance), which according to the job description had to take over the emergency calls until their recasting.
At the same time, the Minister of Economy and Infrastructure mentioned the necessity of including in psychologist the position of psychologist, who will evaluate the psychological aspects in the work of the future employees. In this respect, it is expected to increase the efficiency of the 112 Service in taking over and handling emergency calls from the population.
