14 electric vehicle charging stations will be installed in Moldova
14 electric vehicle charging stations will be installed soon on the main streets of Moldova. The acquisition will be realized due to a partnership between the Fund for Energetic Efficiency and the United National Development Program. Today, the both institutions signed a funding agreement.
"We want to create the first public network of charging the electric vehicles from Moldova. The network will provide the connection between Romania and Ukraine. It will have a good impact for the surrounding", said Sergiu Corin, the director of the Fund for Energetic Efficiency.
The project will be finished by the spring of 2019.
"By developing the electric vehicle loading infrastructure in Moldova, we aim to increase the number of cars with low pollutant emissions. Experience from other countries demonstrates that the development of electric vehicle loading infrastructure is a key factor in increasing the number of electric cars, "said Alexandru Rotaru, UNDP Project Manager", declared Alexandru Rotaru, project manager.
Now, in the Republic of Moldova there are 54 electric vehicles and 5 electric vehicle charging stations, all placed in Chisinau.
