In order to support the mixed voting system, 15 000 Moldovan people have gathered in front of Parliament.

Among the supporters of the new system were the deputies, who promoted the project but also veterans of the Dniester War.

People said in front of Parliament that the new voting system will strengthen society and democracy. 

During the mass rally, Democratic Party deputies said the new changes would modernize the political class and society.

"All the legal commission's recommendations have been fully executed, we will have a perfect European project that are properly required by the Venice Commission and OSCE standards," said PDM deputy Sergiu Sarbu.

Local authorities also believe that the joint system will restore people's trust in political class. 

Likewise, in opinions of Moldovan veterans, electoral system modification could have been intrigued decades ago.
