A container of 15 thousand bottles of premium Moldovan wine worth 60 thousand dollars got frozen in Beijing. It all happened because of an error in transporting to the refrigerator. The temperature had to be set to 12 degrees Celsius, but the bottles got frozen at a temperature of 17 degrees below zero. The Moldovan producers say that the person who transported the wine if guilty of what happened.
"When they opened the container, they found that the wines was frozen, which is a total damage." We already know that this may be a technical or human error. "Now the problem is mostly legal between the importer and the carrier", said Ion Luca, wine producer.
The Chinese importer has posted on Facebook several pictures of frozen bottles. The man wrote that he regrets that this year the Moldovan wine will not reach the China.
Even though the Moldovan producers who sold the bottles are not affected, they say it is a serious blow to the image.
"It is detrimental to all our efforts to promote our wines in China." Now, in late August, our importer remained with very few stocks, and September 9 is the time when wine is sold in China throughout January, February and March together, for us this situation means we are losing all this very important sales season",said Ion Luca, wine producer.
This delivery was supposed to be a special one. Many of the Moldovan wines were awarded at international gold medal competitions. Moreover, there were also custom label wines, ordered for a wedding in Bali.
