17 swine fever outbreaks revealed in Moldova
The National Agency for Food Safety urges people who have pigs in their households to take care of their animals. If they notice any changes in their behavior, they are urged to appeal the local authorities.
Meanwhile, the farms owners issued a canteen and take measures to prevent the illness.
"Now, the access in the pigs farms is forbidden. All the cars that enter on the farms' territory are disinfected", said Oxana Bodnar, Publika TV reporter.
The president of Pork Manufactures Association, Maxim Cazacu manages a farm from Cimiseni village, Criuleni district.
"We clean all the cars that enter on this territory", said Maxim Cazacu, the President of Pork Association.
The pork manufactures won't index the price of the meat.
According to ANSA, 700 animals are infected of swine fever. The Government will allocate one million and a half to pay for people's damages.
"People should understand that they should declare the animals that they own. Moldova is in a risky zone", said Maxim Sarbu, chief of Animals Health Section of ANSA.
On Wednesday, Pavel Filip convoked a session and announced that 17 swine fever outbreaks there were found in Stefan Voda and Cahul districts.
As a result, an actions plan of 23 measures have been made.
