2019 parliamentary elections: Ghenadi Mitriuc confirmed he was interested to take the Romanian citizenship
Ghenadi Mitriuc, PSRM candidate of Ungheni constituency took the oath for Romania, that is an EU member country and NATO member and now he criticizes NATO.
The PSRM candidate is the vice-president of the National Security Commission of the Parliament. Within a press conference, he said that the socialists will close the NATO office from Chisinau and will stop the cooperation with the political alliance.
"When we will take our places in the parliament, we will make everything possible to get rid of NATO office from Moldova", said GHenadi Mitriuc, PSRM candidate.
Anti-Nato possition of Ghenadi Mitriuc is not an impediment for him to be European citizen. His other party colleagues don't see a problem in having Romanian citizenship.
"I took the oath, as every citizen did."
The socialist deputy said that he tried to get rid of the Romanian citizenship, but didn't present any proofs.
According to the National Authorities for Citizenship, among the socialist deputies who have Romanian citizenship, except Ghenadi Mitriuc there are: Adrian Lebedinschi, Anatolie Labuneţ, Corneliu Furculiţă and Radu Mudreac. In 2014, Igor Dodon promised that all the candidates for the parliamentary elections will be Republic of Moldova citizens.
