2019 republican referendum. Check on the voting procedure
Tomorrow, the Moldovans will attend the referendum. They need to reply to two questions, one regarding the number of deputies and the other one whether they want or no to dismiss the deputies who don't fulfill their responsibilities.
According to to the Elections Code, the referendum debates national interests issues. It targets to find out people's opinion. The final decisions will be taken by the competent authorities.
One of the ballot will have the following question: "Do you agree or no to reduce the number of deputies from 101 to 61? This is going to be the yellow ballot.
The second, beige ballot will have the following question: "Do you want to dismiss the deputies who don't fulfill their duties?
The citizens can put the "Voted" stamp on the "For" or "Against" words.
Five parties applied to the referendum.
The democratic party voted "For". Thre other parties, PCRM, Democracy Home and People's Willing are against the referendum. While Speranta-Nadejda party supports to reduce the number of deputies, but they are against these to be dismissed by the citizens.
In order for the referendum to be valid, at least one third of the citizens should participate.
According to the law, the final results should be submitted to CEC by February 26.
The commission will pronounce the final decision by March 4.
