Chisinau City Hall risks having incapacity of payment because of municipal councilors’ irresponsibility, which did not approve yet the project on local budget. The announcement was done by chief of the General Department of Finances of City Hall, Veronica Herta.

"I want to inform you that the budget in the second lecture was presented on February 2, 2016. According to the position of some councilors the budget had to be presented in the second lecture with same numbers as in the first lecture.

The difference presented in the second lecture was the allocation of 30 million additionally for the increase of children food ratio and additional transfers of 4.3 million euro, special purpose transfers from Ministry of Finances.

After long discussions, the special purpose and general purpose transfers were increased. This means that in 30 days after the issuance we have to establish the correlation of the budget.

If the correlation is not approved, the general destination transfers will be stopped. If we approve the budget, it will take approximately two weeks for each institution to aggregate, and then other two weeks until we approve the decision on correlation. That means that for a month we cannot make any payments" said Veronica Herta.
