Gambling saloons CLOSED for tax evasion
Eight gambling saloons from Moldova have been temporarily closed, as their managers are suspected of tax evasion. The police and prosecutors had searched the places.
In 2015 - 2016, the firms put down fake figures in their accountancy papers.
At the same time the gambling machines were used illegally. The prosecutors have started a criminal inquest.
Last week, the first deputy president of the Democratic Party, Vlad Plahotniuc, proposed an action plan to severely regulate the gambling business. The proposed amendments provide for banning the casinos and gambling saloons in the areas where the children have access.
