Authorities want to create premises for the development of this sector. 'Start-up Moldova' goals: creating a new fund for supporting IT companies in the country and eliminate bureaucratic barriers in obtaining visas by foreign IT specialists, which the Ministry of IT and Communications aims to develop until fall. 

The "Start-up Moldova" will be developed in partnership with USAID Moldova. Specialists will be informed from the experience of other 17 states where this type of project was already adopted.

"It is very important that the financial component, in addition to the infrastructure component, Start-up Visa component be a catalyst in several countries. The launch of Angel's business associations was proposed to catalyze technological entrepreneurship", said Doina Nistor, director of USAID Competitiveness Project in Moldova.

Currently, foreign IT specialists hardly open their businesses in our country because of bureaucracy. "Start-up Visa" will help solve this problem.

"Such legislative initiatives are welcomed in order to grow companies with high added value producing, for them, to attract specialists and to attract startups made in Moldova" , said executive director of ATIC, Ana Chirita.

Authorities intend to finalize a number of legislative initiatives to eliminate the constraints of the information technology industry.

"We remove all barriers for people who want to initiate a start-up supported by the State, the Government", said the Minister of Information, Technology and Communications, Vasile Botnari.

In Moldova there are over a thousand IT companies, which hire over ten thousand employees. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, IT professionals are the highest paid, with a monthly salary over 11 thousand lei.
