Serious economic crimes and exceptionally serious damage that brought more than one million lei damage will not be investigated by the General Prosecutor Police Inspectorate.

The files will arrive on the investigators table from the Organized Crime Combat and Special Cases Prosecutor, a new institution, created by the new Law of Prosecution.

Acting head of the new entity, Nicolae Chitoroaga claims that investigators from the new structure will investigate terrorist offenses and those committed by criminal organizations.

Moreover, the prosecutors will have exclusive powers, including the investigation of tax evasion and smuggling crimes.
"If the amount of damage determined by the offense exceeds 50 000 conventional units for committing tax evasion and smuggling crime and non-payment of customs duties. These crimes are under the jurisdiction of PCCOCS" , said Nicolae Chitoroaga.

The institution will have two subdivisions in north and south areas of the country and officers and other structures will ennable within them. Currently, 43 specialists are working here.

"It is sufficient. But undoubtedly we are at the beginning we can not assess safety what is the number of prosecutors that serve in this prosecution" ,  said the acting head of the new entity.

Chitoroaga Nicolae also said that he wants to lead the institution and he will run for this office.
The institution started working on August 1.
