NO COMMENT: A sewage truck explodes in rush hour traffic in Moscow
Next time you're stuck in traffic on a hot day, restlessly tapping the steering wheel and thinking to yourself "there is literally no way this could be any worse," consider this: at least you're not stuck behind a sewage lorry that's just started spurting out gallons of hot human excrement.
That's what these commuters in the Moscow rush hour had to contend with recently, as the video above illustrates, reports The Telegraph.
A car pulls up in a traffic queue. Two vehicles ahead is a large sewage truck. And then, without warning, it sheds its contents.
This grim scene was captured for posterity thanks to the recent spread of dashcams among drivers in Russia, which, in a 2013 article, Wired attributed to the "sheer size of the country, combined with lax — and often corrupt — law enforcement, and a legal system that rarely favors first-hand accounts of traffic collisions."
"A combination of inexpensive cameras, flash memory and regulations passed by the Interior Ministry in 2009 that removed any legal hurdles for in-dash cameras has made it easy and cheap for drivers to install the equipment," it wrote.
Thanks to this rapid spread of dashcams, unusual videos captured around Russia’s vast road network have become increasingly prevalent.
