World bank announces post-investment grant contest for Moldovan farmers
The World Bank’s Moldova Agriculture Competitiveness Project aqnnounced the call for proposals for participation in the contest of post-investment grants “Sustainable Land Management” for agricultural producers, Infotag informs.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, which is one of contest organizers, farmers from the entire country are invited for participation in it, excluding those from Balti and Chisinau, who are adopting methods of sustainable land resource management by means of preserving the soil health and fertility.
For participation are eligible farmers, who since November 1, 2015 have bought new equipment or agricultural vehicles, produced not earlier than 2014, and used them for sustainable land management according to the technology of the No-Till system, strip cropping technology, the contour cultivation.
The post-investment grant accounts 50% of the sum of beneficiary’s contribution, but not more than US$20 thousand.
For participation in the contest, one has to submit application and documents to the Agency for Interventions and Payments in Agriculture until December 15.
The MAC-P started in June 2013; its total budget accounts for US$27 million, US$18 million of which the WB allocated in the form of credit for 25 years, with 5-year grace period in payments, under 1.25% interest rate.
