Almost one million lei ($50,000) has been poured into the state budget from fines for smoking in banned places.

Three months after the anti-smoking law entered force, over 1,300 people have been fined.

200 entertainment firms (bars & restaurants) paid fines of almost 49,000 lei ($2,500).

The data have been presented by the Interior Ministry, which has been monitoring the situation since the law had become valid in May.
