Wages in the private sector in Romania increased by 8% in the third quarter of the year compared to the same period of 2015, and the bonuses went up by 22%, according to a report by human resources consultancy firm Smartree, Romania-Insider reports.
The evolution was felt in all areas, amid increasingly stronger competition in the labor market, reports local Ziarul Financiar.
“Many employers are now facing huge difficulties in finding staff,” said Adrian Stanciu, Smartree CEO.
This happens particularly in the IT and retail sectors, which are booming in Romania but are in a position to curb their development due to lack of manpower. At the opposite end, in sectors such as banks and financial services, the salaries saw the slowest growth.
According to Smartree Workforce Index, the average wages went up on average by almost 8% in the third quarter of the year compared to the same period in 2015. For comparison, in the third quarter of last year the salaries in the private sector recorded an advance of only 3% compared to Q3 2014.
