A truck with medical equipment arrived this morning at the Institute of Mother and Child in Chisinau, representing a donation ensured by the Vlad Plahotniuc’s “Edelweiss” Foundation and American organization Medical Bridges.

Among the equipment donated to the Institute of Mother and Child there are critically needed devices and supplies, among those requested by the administration of the medical centre amounting 128.500 USD.

“These products will ease our work considerably; these are extremely needed things, devices necessary in each hospital. We will be able to provide consultation at higher quality standards”, said the doctors from the Institute of Mother and Child.

This medical equipment was brought from the United States of America under a cooperation agreement signed several months ago between Vlad Plahotniuc’s “Edelweiss” Foundation and Medical Bridges organization.

“We’ve met the doctors from Houston in May this year. They showed us how a last generation medical centre looks like where their patients are treated. Neither did we waste our time; we maintained ties and started collaboration with Edelweiss. And today we managed to come up with the first concrete result”, said Vlad Plahotniuc, the Edelweiss founder reminding of his promise regarding the cooperation with the Medical Bridges organization for the benefit of several medical institutions from the Republic of Moldova.

Medical Bridges organization is known globally for its involvement in more than 80 countries where it provides support in the health care sector. Being in Chisinau the organization’s representatives George Bolettieri and Judkins Jeremiah Wilson said they are pleased to work with Edelweiss for the Institute of Mother and Child.

“This is a new market for us, we have not had the opportunity to come to Moldova, but we are happy that we were able to establish a partnership with the Edelweiss Foundation which will help us in the future to make donations in Moldova”, said the American doctors. At the same time they appreciated the conditions within the Maternity Department of the Institute of Mother and Child after the extensive renovations that took place in the last two years.

We remind that Vlad Plahotniuc’s “Edelweiss” Foundation took upon oneself in 2014 to sustain the modernisations at the Maternity Department of the Institute of Mother and Child within the “Revive Moldova” social campaign. And during this year Edelweiss provided support at birth under another social project for the benefit mothers and children.
