The  winter holidays bring home the Moldovans working abroad, as the locals choose to go outside the country.

That’s the reason why the flows of travelers inflate considerably at customs.

According to the Border Police, the flux grew by 10 % week-on-week.

The biggest number of travelers was recorded at the Otaci-Moghilev customs point, at the northeastern border with Ukraine: 18,000 crossings.

17,000 crossings were recorded at the Leuşeni customs point with Romania. 

The airport is the third in line with 16,000 crossings.

As a result, the Customs Service poured 470 million lei into the country’s budget.
