The Chisinau mayor Dorin Chirtoacă has presented his 2016 activity report.

According to the mayor, the biggest success is inaugurating the Waterfalls staircase in Valea Morilor Park, while the opposite pole stays with fighting corruption.

Dorin Chirtoacă says 2016 started with a series of challenges. The first was the blast at a restaurant in the central bazaar, which left four dead and 13 wounded.

Then there was the crisis at the water supplying company, which left a whole of EUR2 m in the municipal budget.

He also mentioned the failed referendum meant to oust him and the municipal budget voted as late as July.

Assembling trolleys in Chisinau and endowing with equipment a hospital were mentioned as accomplishments.

Dorin Chirtoacă says he will go on implementing the reforms in 2017. Repair works are to be finished in the main avenue as more buildings are to be thermally insulated.
