Driver stopped in Hancesti district on suspicion of drug intoxication
A man driving a car near Loganesti village, Hancesti district, was stopped by patrolling inspectors.
In order to avoid a tragedy, he was verified, after which was found out that the driver had a behavior similar to narcotic users, unclear speech and state of somnolence, and in the pocket had a package with approximately 300 grams of substance similar with marijuana.
The 26 year old man admitted he got behind the wheel after using drugs. Policemen escorted him to Hancesti Police Inspectorate for hearing and documentation.
The suspect will be prosecuted for driving a car while intoxicated and for illegal circulation of drugs, ethnobotanical plants or analogues thereof without the purpose of alienation.
If found guilty, the man faces a fine of up to 25,000 lei deprivation of the right to drive for a period of 3 to 5 years.
However, if found guilty for keeping drugs, the man faces a fine of up to 35,000 lei, or imprisonment for up to 1 year.
