Moldovan Premier discusses with mission from ECFIN Directorate of EU
Moldovan Prime Minister Pavel Filip has met with the delegation of the Directorate General for Economic and Financial Affairs of the European Commission.
Their visit coincides with the trip of the IMF mission to this country.
The premier has expressed his gratitude for the Commission’s decision of 13 January to offer macro-financial assistance in amount of EUR100 mn to Moldova till 2018.
Pavel Filip has expressed his firm determination to continue the dialogue with ECFIN directorate, dubbing the conditions to be imposed by the EU and IMF as a supporting tool for the Government. The reform agenda is ambitious and often non-populistic.
As prior the premier highlighted the reform of the public administration, of the healthcare sector, of the employment agency, reviewing the public acquisition system and the Labor Code.
The ECFIN representatives have spoken about 5 key sectors upon which conditions will be imposed: finances, public governance, energy, anti-corruption, business and investment climate.
The EU financial assistance is to add to the IMF program okayed on 7 November, 2016.
