A new meat processing factory will be built in the northern town of Bălți by later next year. The investment amounts to EUR14 mn and will be made by an Italian company with the support of several European programs.

The factory will be built on the territory of an older butchery. Its starting capacity will be

400 tonnes of meat per month.

Later the production is likely to double.

The plant will sell over 150 types of products and will use energy-saving technologies.
