The meal voucher system is an element in fighting tax evasion and illegal wages (‘in envelope.’)
Speaker Andrian Candu has made this statement and has added:
"Better fed people work better, and it implies more incomes to the state, excises. We consider the arguments brought about, but have found no drawbacks for the state and the budget. I can hardly wait to starting the second round of public debates, and I refer here to Maia Sandu.
We want the employees to get a bonus to their salaries so that they can buy those meal sin restaurants and stores. Those amounts are tax exempted, we see benefits only, so I don’t why such a good system won’t work in Moldova."
According to statistics, over 70 million people benefit from meal tickets world-wide.
