Moldova got its first medal at the European Wrestling Championships in Hungary.

The free style fighter Ivan Zamfirov won the bronze managing to defeat – 11:0 – the Hungarian Tamas Roman in the category of up to 57 kg.

Another Moldovan wrestler, Maxim Saculțan, was eliminated in the quarter finals by the Georgian Iveriko Julakidze.
