The reorganization of eight schools in capital Chisinau are probably facilitated this year. This was announced today at the City Council meeting. The final decision will be made by local counselors.

In Gymnasium no.45 in Ciorescu commune where Russian is taught, only 65 children attend the classes. This year, four students enrolled in the first grade. The institution director declared the number of children gradually decreases.  

Among the proposed institutions for optimization are also the "Ion Luca Caragiale" Gymnasium, which will be merged with Lucian Blaga High School. 

The Moldovan school optimization started in 2010. However, the decision was already made in early 2004, and it was designed to save the state budget as well as to ensure the education quality. The decision to optimize schools belongs to local authorities.
