Magistrates issued the sentence for a couple from Balti who attempted to sell their baby girl. According to the decision of the Hincesti Court, the mother and father of the child were sentenced to 15 and 17 years of jail respectively.

 The German female citizen who tried to smuggle the baby out of the country got a harsher sentence. The woman will stay behind bars for the next 18 years.

 The couple from Balti tried to sell their only 12 days old baby earlier this year. The German woman obtained the consent of her parents promising them ransom money, and tried to take the baby out of the country under the pretext that the baby needed medical assistance abroad. The little one turned out to be perfectly healthy.
