30 days' arrest warrant issued for 3 Turkish nationals detained at border
The three citizens of Turkey, who intended to illegally cross the Moldovan border by swimming across Prut River, were given 30-day arrest warrants. The Ungheni Court ordered the preventive measure to be applied from the moment of their detention.
Publika.md reminds that three Turkish citizens who wanted to fraudulently cross the state border by swimming through the Prut River were detained. They wanted to get to one of the EU countries.
The three individuals were found last night, around 23:00, heading in the direction of Măcăreşti, the district Ungheni. They were moving towards the borderline.
During the detention, the people did not submit to the verbal summons of the border guards, trying to run away from the spot. Under these circumstances, the Border Police had to make use of their service weapons, firing two warning shots in compliance with the laws.
The men, aged 25, 31 and 51, had some luggage upon them including three inflatable circles, change of clothes, polythene bags, mobile phones, cords, and also Turkish passports with travel tickets were that they used to get to Moldova.
