The police officer from the Orhei Inspectorate, witness to the rape of a minor female in Pelivan, was detained by the prosecutors. According to the data, , the policeman had invited the victim to a meeting four days earlier, then raped her in his office.

During the criminal investigation, the minor's statements were confirmed, the prosecutors ordered preventive detention for the policeman for 72 hours, being charged with two offences: rape and complicity in committing rape.

PUBLIKA.MD reminds that the terrifying case occurred on the night of July 23, at the Pelivan village disco, when the defendants who knew the victim lured her to get into car under the pretext of giving her a ride home.

Then they sexually abused the 16-year-old through physical and psychological constraint.

The crime occurred in the presence of a third accomplice, who turned out to be a police officer with the Orhei Police Inspectorate.

Immediately after the tragic events, the victim went to the people of the law, and shortly after, the aggressors were detained and charged.

For the rape of a minor committed by two or more people, the Moldovan criminal code provides for up to 12 years imprisonment.
