Several streets in Chisinau were flooded after water continuously flowed for several hours as a consequence of broken pipe.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Veronica Micle with Vlaicu Pârcălab streets in the center of Chisinau yesterday.

People working and living in this area announced the "Apa-Canal Chisinau", but the workers only intervened the scene after two hours.

Because of the pressure, a piece of asphalt collapsed, leading worse situation. 

"There are no such cases in a civilized country."

According to the technical director of Chisinau Apa-Canal, Victor Croitoru, the pipe exploded because of being out of date. It has not been changed for over 40 years.

The damaged part of the pipe will be replaced. Consumers will not be affected by the incident because they will be provided with water from the adjacent pipeline.
