Today is the last day that Moldovans can pay the first 50% of the dwelling and land tax. People who don't not pay within the set deadline will pay penalties for each day of delay. According to the Fiscal Service, 75% of the property owners fully paying the tax up to 30 June received a 15% discount of tax.
Over 315 million lei have been accumulated for state budget from the real estate tax paid by Moldovans this year. According to the Tax Code, the maximum tax rate on dwellings is 0.4 percent of the taxable base, 0.1 percent higher, and the lowest is 0.05 percent. For agricultural land the maximum quota is 0.3 percent and the minimum one is 0.1.
