Independence Day disturbed by explosion at Kiev's heart
Ukraine’s Independence day was disturbed by an explosion which took place in the Capital’s heart. According to the initial information provided by the police, three people were injured.
The explosion took place on a street near the Government and a zone where various events were organized, writes the Ukrainian press.
The explosion was caused by an unknown object that was, according to the press, thrown toward the Azerbaijan Consulate’s car, which was parked there.
Two woman and a man that were nearby were injured. The police are investigating this case as hooliganism, but the secretary from the National Security and Defense Council, Aleksandr Turcinov declared that it was a well-planned terroristic attack.
Petro Porosenki, the leader from Kiev, midday, became the target of an assassination attempt.
The announcement of the supposed assassination attempt was made during a visit from the official Harkov.
The Ukraininan press revealed that the message was send through an IP telephony, having a female voice.
The call was made from a stationary telephone, but its number and location has yet to be found, reports the news portal ukrinform, using references from the National Security and Defense Service of Ukraine.
Police has opened an investigation following this incident.
