Nearly 1300 citizens of Moldova hospitalized for intoxication
Moldova's National Public Health Center published statistics regarding the first half of this year. Nearly 1300 citizens ended up hospitalized for intoxication. Out of those cases 450 being children. Specialists believe that the main cause is the free access to drugs and chemical substances.
“Most of the times, teenagers are admitted for alcohol poisoning due to bad grades, or family issues. Around 80% of cases, ranging between 16 to 80-year-old, have a death wish caused by issues in term of family, finances, work places”, Moldova's National Public Health Center's chief of Medicine, Tatiana Manceva, declared.
In most cases, 465 to be exact, people are admitted for drug poisoning, while over 330 cases are alcohol poisoning. Nearly 240 people seek help after gas poisoning, while 70 suffer pesticide poisoning, as shown by statistics.
Out of registered 290 cases in Chisinau, of people admitted for toxic substances poisoning, 20 became fatal.
