Moldova celebrates Border Guards Day. When first uniform of border officers appeared
Today Moldova celebrates Border Patrol Day. Despite the saying "clothes don't make the man", in this case a simple vest does the job. But let us start from the beginning. Back when Moldova was part of the Soviet Union, it knew no boarders. Therefore the patrol officers didn't have a uniform.
With the attaining of the Independence, back in 1991, Moldova gained boarders and the patrol officers begun to guard our sovereignty.
Furthermore, the conflict on Nistru river changed lots of things, including uniforms stuff.
The customs officers resisted vigorously at that time. And after a decade at the border, new heroes and new destinations appeared.
The year 2015 brought visa-free regime, the border guards had fine formalwear on this occasion, writes prime.md.
The history of the Customs Service has undergone changes in clothes and borders, however, there are many precious values remaining forever.
