Mother found her child bloodied in a preschool from Chisinau
A 4-year-old girl suffered because of her teacher's ignorance, in preschool No. 179 from Ciocana sector of the Capital.
The incident took place on 6th September. When the two teachers have left the children without supervision for a few minutes, the little girl fell and hit her ear. In place of receiving an apology for finding their child bloodied, the parent was harassed.
Ludmila Lungu claims that her daughter attends the kindergarten for already two years. She admitted to have been called back only two hours after leaving the little girl in the teacher's custody.
"Her clothes were bloodied, she kept a few soaked tissues at her ear and cried. By the time I arrived it was obvious that the injury has already dried. The ear was swollen and caused pain to the child. It will obviously scar".
Arina said that she tripped over a toy and hit her head of a chair. She started crying from pain, but in place of assisting the teacher started yelling for her to calm down and stop disturbing other kids. The actions were confirmed by other children.
"I tripped by myself, nobody pushed me. The teacher started yelling for me to calm down".
Ludmila said that the teacher admitted to not be present in the room when the accident took place, as such she claims that she is not at fault for it. When attempting to find some justice the mother went to speak with the headmaster, but was only yelled at and her child registered as disabled.
"They yelled that the accident was our fault. Now, the group will close down and 21 children will remain without teachers starting 7th September" the child's mother said.
The headmaster forbade us from speaking with the teacher. Despite the existence of two teachers, none was present in the room and the headmaster claims that the second teacher is just an assistant.
"We read the mother's complaint and spoke with the teacher, a case was opened. If it will be proven that the accident took place due to the teachers negligence, the woman will be punished" headmaster of 179 preschool, Natalia Cogâlniceanu declared.
Representatives from the general directorate of education said that they have received a complaint from Ludmilei Lungu and will investigate this case.
"There are laws meant to ensure the safety of the children. We will further established if they were respected" deputy chief of the general directorate of education, youth and sport, Viorica Negrei stated.
Many parents were shocked by Arinei's accident, but they say it is also not the first time it happened. Now they fear leaving their children at this preschool.
"I worry about my child since his safety is my priority, yet every morning I can see him struggling when going to preschool".
"Other such incidents took place, only under the supervision of another teacher. There were other complaints from parents, but they were ignored by the headmaster. I fear for my child's safety and think that this could have happened with any of them".
If the teacher will be found guilty of ignorance she risks to be severely punished, or even fired.
