Lack of medical assistants in educational institutions: Our children suffer disadvantage
Educational institutions in the Capital face a lack of medical assistants. More 37 specialists need to be in kindergartens and 15 medical assistants in schools.
City hall representatives say the problem directly affects country's children.
"Basically no sector is filled with 100 per cent with medical staff, because of the lack of medical personnel, there is no sorting of classes, there is no one to monitor the quality of food products and to intervene in emergency situations," said the head of the Directorate Health, Chisinau, Mihai Moldovanu.
The main reason why nurses leave schools and kindergartens is the low salary.
"A solution would be replacement with current AMTs, to manage the Territorial Physicians Association, where the wages of their nurses are equivalent, "said interim director of the General Education Directorate, Chişinău, Alexandru Fleas.
A nurse working in educational institutions receives a monthly salary of 1,500 lei.
