Today, five mobile teams in the country have been equipped with new cars, with the support of the European Union. The Căuşeni, Stefan Voda, ATU Gagauzia, Slobozia and Tiraspol districts received the cars within the project "Social services for people with disabilities to support confidence-building measures between both banks of the Dniester" funded by the European and Union implemented by Keystone Moldova in partnership with the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection.

The project envisages the creation and development of six new services (5 mobile teams and a daycare center) for people with disabilities and capacity building activities of local public administrations, non-governmental organizations, new service staff created to prevent the institutionalization of people with disabilities and their social inclusion .

During the event, Ambassador of the European Union to Moldova, Peter Michalko and Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection, Stela Grigoraş handed the car keys to the representatives of the local public administrations in the territorial administrative units.

"Over the past 5 years, with the support of the European Union, 10 Mobile Teams for People with Disabilities were created. These services focus on improving the quality of life of people with disabilities through counseling, recovery and psychosocial rehabilitation services, in order to increase personal autonomy, prevent institutionalization and social inclusion, "said Stela Grigoraş.

"We hope that by offering new cars for mobile teams providing social services for people with disabilities and their families, we will create better working conditions for their activities and this will lead to improved social services for those who need them," he said. At the same time, this project encourages the transfer of knowledge and experience in the development of social services for people with disabilities between representatives of the communities on both sides of the Dniester, following the ultimate goal of establishing interpersonal and confidence-building relations.
