Vlad Plahotniuc: PDM is willing to make an alliance with any far-right party that will pass elections of 2018
Today, leader of PDM, Vlad Plahotniuc has declared during a press conference that the Democratic Party of Moldova is willing to make an alliance with any other far-right that will pass the elections of 2018. The main aim will be to make sure that Republic of Moldova will continue to pursuit European Integration.
"Some parties from Republic of Moldova have already begun preparing for the next year's elections. Despite the fact that we still have nearly a year to prepare, some parties have already begun searching for partners and creating alliances. Taking into consideration the recent studies, showing the dire situation in the far-right parties and the grave dangers for Republic of Moldova in 2018 elections. This unoriginal way of dealing with the current situation has to be changed, otherwise it creates a risk for the future of Republic of Moldova. It is time to ring the warning bell, before it is not too late. Regardless of whether you serve the opposition or the Government the citizens need officials to look after their problems" leader of PDM, Vlad Plahotniuc declared.
"PDM will not participate in this premature race. Our main priority for now will be to govern dutifully and bring positive results citizens will be able to feel. In order to make a clear statement of PDM's position, both for now and for after the 2018 elections, I have suggested today that at the next National Political Council meeting, which will take place at the end of this month, to adopt a resolution where PDM clearly states that it will be willing to make an alliance with any far-right party that passes the election. PDM will not compete against far-right parties neither before the elections, nor close the them. As they are not our opponents. PDM though, will show all it's might to any who will attempt to stop Moldova from pursuing an European path and modernization, to destroy all the treaties signed so far with the European Union and other acts that will make a turn for the worse in Moldova's development. I assure that our opponents will feel our true strength, on a daily basis, until the elections, if needed" Plahotniuc added.
At the same time, the leader of PDM has declared that the main aim of the alliance will be to ensure that Moldova will have a pro-European government after the 2018 elections.
"For Moldova to continue on this path, all far-right parties have to make everything to increase their chases. They must not limit themselves by electoral traps. We are surprised that some far-right parties are aggressive and have a negative opinion toward PDM. They make a scene by declaring that never will they enter in an alliance with PDM, an opinion we consider childish. It will do them no good. They have done the same thing at the past presidential elections and therefore, repelled people who would have voted for a far-right candidate. We ask of them to not repeat the same mistake twice, as this time, the future of Republic of Moldova is at stake. We understand that creating an alliance after the elections will be difficult, considering the hostility among the far-right parties. But at the same time, we understand that we must prioritize the European modernization of Moldova. In the end, I wish to make a declaration for all those who rushes to say that PDM is toxic, because the truth is, together, we can do this country justice. I hope that they will start thinking critically and not let their obsessions and pride get in their way" leader of PDM, Vlad Plahotniuc concluded.
