NATO promised to discuss Russian troops withdrawal from Transnistria
NATO will discuss the withdrawal of Russian troops from Transnistria, during its next meeting, which will take place in 2018. The promise was made by its representatives, before the Parliamentary meeting from Bucharest.
Delegate from Moldova, participated at the meeting in Romania, as an associate country and has previously requested that the topic of Transnistria issue to be included. It was rejected though, by NATO representatives, as the meeting is to discuss only issues of countries that have access to the Black Sea.
Government from Moldova has already requested multiple times organizations such as NATO and UN to request of Russia the withdrawal of its troops from Transnistria.
According to them, this is the only possible solution to solving the issue. This subject will be discussed at the next UN General Assembly meeting, which will take place in October, in New York.
