Books donated by Romanians, distributed for free on Chisinau streets
More than 2,000 books donated by Romanian citizens were distributed free of charge on the pedestrian street in Chisinau. Hundreds of people of different ages enjoyed choosing their favorite literature in both Romanian, English and French. According to the organizers, the purpose of the event is to promote reading among Moldovans.
The basic rule was everyone could choose only one book.
"I'm glad that a lot of people are interested and enjoy the books," said a young woman.
However, many people ignored the rule and left home with four or five books, which surprised the organizers.
"Unfortunately we can't make order, there are some people leaving with more than one book. "said Vitalie Prisăcaru, Deputy Chairman of the Youth of Moldova.
The event was initiated by a public association and today remarks its second edition. Further actions will take place more often, say organizers.
