Unexploded artillery shells were found in Balti
Unexploded artillery shells were found in Balti, by the workers of a building site.
Immediately, the zone was secured by the police officers. The engineers of the Motorized Infantry Brigade from Balti came very fast.
The ammunition were found on a depth of one meter.
''They were fixing the gates when they found the ammunitions. It is forbidden to pass there.''
The workers were very lucky. If they touched any of the ammunitions, the consequences would have been fatal.''
''Besides the four ammunitions we found yesterday, nine more ammunitions of 76 meters and 8 cartridges of 16 millimeters were found today. All of them date since the Second World War. It is very dangerous to work with the ammunitions'', said Serghei Chilivnic, the lieutenant colonel of the Motorized Infantry Brigade from Balti.
The experts will continue the diggings, to assure there is nothing left there. Over 500 exploded objects were found by the engineers since the beginning of this year.
