Within its session, the Government decided to build a monument in Causeni. The monument will be built in the memory to the actor and film director, Parliament deputy, Minister of Culture between 1990 and 1994, Ion Ungureanu.

Ion Ungureanu was born on August 2, 1935 in Opaci village, Causeni district. He started his professional activity as an actor at the ''Luceafarul'' theater. Thus, he became the director of theis theater and director of the Army's theater from Moscow, Russian Federation.

He received many awards for its activity: Republic's order, the Honor Order and the medal ''Civic Worth''. Ion Ungureanu died on January 28, 2017.

The costs of the monument's edification will be covered by the budget of Causeni district.
