They received money to repair the roads, but don't know how to use them. The authorities found out that a half of the sum from the road fund was not exploited. More exactly, only 426 from 736 million lei were used.

''There are different causes, for example, the decision of the local councils, the lack of techniques, the absence from the auctions and so on'', said the Minister of Economy and Infrastructure, Anatol Usatii.

Petreni village from Drochia district received 119 000 lei for the road construction. The authorities decided to fix a kilometer of the road, but the work haven't started yet.

''In Republic of Moldova, the volume of the work is big, while the economic agents are few, this is why it takes that long for the roads to be repaired. There are different problems, even the local councils tarry sometimes'', said Valeriu Tizu, the mayor of Petreni village, Drochia.

Other City Halls fixed the problem better.

''I received the same amount of money in August. We repaired a half kilometer of road'', said Valentina Carastan, the mayor of Slobozia Mare village.

Alte primării s-au descurcat însă mult mai bine.

Another example is Calarasi town. The authorities received a million 675 thousand lei, also, they added 210 000 lei from the local budget and repaired the road.

The City Halls that didn't present the reparation projects will lose the money, because the law provides that the money will be transferred for the next year. 

''We will return to this subject. Maybe the colleagues from the Minister of Finances will make some modifications. We will try to transfer the money for the future year'', declared Elena Bacalu, the deputy president of the Public Administration Commission.

In March, the Parliament modified the law of the road fund according to the local finances. Thus, they decided that 50% from the road tax will be sent in the local budget where the cars are matriculated.

The smallest amount of money received Balti, Drochia, Cahul, Cantemir and Gagauzia districts.
