Balti Municipal Hospital reduces number of places for the ill
The decision of Balti authorities to decrease the number of beds and to transfer those who have tuberculosis in another unit provoked many complaints. The doctrs are afraid they can lose their job, while the patients think they will have limited access to the medical services.
''The cabinet that we want to give doesn't fit the ones who suffer from turberculosis. It is very cold there, the windows are old and the floor is made of old tile.''
''We are in such a situation that we will come to work tomorrow and they will say they don't need us anymore.''
''I think they won't have problems with the ill, because the conditions here are terrible and they won't want to stay here.''
The deccision will afect the ill, because they will be obliged to go to a hospital in Chisinau or Vorniceni.
''There is not enough spase in Vorniceni. Here my relatives bring me food, but in Vorniceni there won't be anybody to take care of me..''
The number of the beds will be reduced from 70 to 50. To minimalize the costs, the patients will be transfered in anothor unit. In the Phthisiopneumology Department there will be arranged two sections for 100 patients.
''There are fewer ill in the last time. A part of them will be treated outpatient. The costs will decrease and we will use the money for food and drugs'', declared Sergiu Rotaru, the director of the Municipal Hospital from Balti.
