The President Igor Dodon had a meeting with Papa Francisc. Within his visit in Rome.

Within the meeting, Dodon declared that Moldova is opened on the develepment of the relationship between those two churches, to protect the Christian values. Also, the President appreciated the contribution and the efforts of Papa on the maintaince of the peace, equity and solidarity.

Igor Dodon referred to the efficient activity of the Catholic Church from Moldova, who supports the victims of the human trafficking.

According to the 2014 census, from the total number of the population, 0,1% are catholics.
