Over 470 children run away from home in first two months of 2017
In the first two months of 2017, 471 children, 262 girls and 209 boys run away from homes and orphanages. The most frequent causes are: the alcohol abuse, bad financial situation within the family, conflicts, divorces, concubinage, the disapproval of the parents according to the friendship relations of their children and so on.
In 222 of the cases, the children were aged between 14 and 15.
The General Police Inspectorate recommend the parents, law's representatives and the tutors to fulfill their responsibilities according to the education of their children:
- to contact the relatives, because those are the persons they usually go to, first;
-to call the police and tell the characteristics that contribute to find the child;
-to present a recent photo of the child;
-to present information of their friends, or the persons the child spends time more often with;
-to verify if the child didn't left any notices, to find out if any of the goods of the house disappeared.
