Schools and kindergartens from Târnova village renovated thanks to European funds
                          Multiple projects financed by European funds and state budget from Edineț district have resulted in renovated schools and kindergartens are, with modern heating devices and thermal isolation. Such success is due to active implication of local authorities and of the community.
Târnova village residents can enjoy now a renovated preschool. If two years ago, parents preferred to keep their children at home during cold season, as the building was freezing, this year kids can enjoy good conditions in both classrooms and playgrounds.
"There were times when I kept my child at home because it was cold. They now have new furniture, heating system and everything is well" parent Veronica Braga said.
"It was cold, the wind blew, there were no sanitary conditions in the building. Now each child can go and wash his hands and we even have warm water" kindergarten's director from Târnova, Ala Goraş said.
Even the canteen has improved.
"During winder it was very cold, my hands would freeze, couldn't even peel potatoes. We had to dress in our warmest shoes, but now it is warm and beautiful. I enjoy coming here in the morning" chef Ana Oprea declared.
Local Mayor claims that once the conditions in the kindergarten have improved, the village's demographic situation has followed. The repair works have costed over 2 million 700 thousands lei, provided by Romania's Government.
"Not only are there better conditions, but also for the past two years actions were take to raise the birth rate in the region . If until now during cold season only 2,3 children attended due to cold. Now children come in lightly dressed" Târnova village mayor Cornelia Rusu declared.
A new heating system was also gifted to a middle school from the region, where for decades classrooms were heated with a fireplace. The works are nearly done there and costed over 57 thousand US dollars.
"Until new we had to use fireplaces and had no possibility to at least warm up the canteen, PE room, or the festive hall. Now everything is heated and we will offer better possibilities for children" Middle School director from Târnova, Dinu Lupuleac stated.
Two years ago, using money provided by the Energy Efficiency Fund, the whole lyceum from Zăbriceni was renovated. Since then, children no longer freeze in classes. The works costed nearly four million lei.
"It changed everything, now it is more pleasant. New windows and cosmetic works."
"The temperatures in classes changed and it stimulated pupils to work."
According to the school's director, after the windows were changed and walls isolated, the price for heating bills decreased by 30%. This year the institution will also use modern heating system.
"We used to spend 160-170 thousand lei for heating. In three months last year: January, February and March we spend 61 thousand lei to heat the building" Lyceum director from Zăbriceni, Angela Botnariuc annonced.
The Lyceum from Zăbriceni hosts around 180 pupils.
