Rezina
The number of offenses committed in the Rezina district has increased lately. According to the police, most of these are house thefts. In the first ten months of the year, offenders entered 65 homes, with almost 40 more homes than in the same period last year. To reduce their number for a month, 15 carabineers will patrol the streets of the city, parks, busy places, schools, cafes, and night-time streets illuminated daily.
The 15 Carabiniers will patrol daily from 10am to midnight. On weekends, they will take care of public order until four o'clock in the morning.
"We go through the city, check the people, take care not to smoke, not to drink alcohol in public places, not to use narcotic substances. We are careful not to violate public order, not to make noise after 22.00," said Denis Palih, carabinieri.
"Some are aggressive, but we're trying to do our job," said Denis Palih, a carabiner.
The involvement of the Carabinieri was necessary because the inhabitants of Rezina district did not have patrol police, and for this reason the number of crimes has increased in the last period. According to police data, five attempted murders were reported in the first ten months of the year, two more than last year. The number of thefts increased from 27 in 2016 to 65 in 2017.
"We hope that the police will work deeper and more actively, especially those sectoralists, more often in the territory to see them. To make us feel defended, do not be afraid when we leave, you go back and you do not know what you'll find it in the house, "said Margareta Ursu, living in the village.
Moreover, the thieves penetrate even in institutions. Inga Benchici works at the kindergarten in Rezina. The woman says that the day she received her salary, her bag was stolen.
"I immediately alerted the police, the case was solved, they returned my money, they found the criminals, who were children," said Innga Benchici, residing in the city of Rezina.
Now that the boys walk in the streets of the city, the residents say they feel more quiet.
"Very often, especially in the storks they steal the walnuts and the potatoes through the cellars and the oil, all that he finds is stolen."
"Let them patronize people to be more confident that it is so hard with livelihood and money."
"In my opinion, the idea is welcome, of course, it would reduce crime, especially since there are bars in the city, the youth consume alcohol and sometimes crimes."
According to the head of the Public Security Section of the Rezina Police Inspectorate, Vecesalv Dascal, the decision to increase the security of the citizens comes after the statistics showed alarming data, yes and because the number of requests from citizens was increasing in the last few years.
"We had requests every week where the 902 crews or the task force intervened, about 30 requests from the citizens. It is a way of preventing these thefts because once they see any suspicions, the carabinieri react," said Igor Botea, head of the Inspectorate Police Station Rezina.
There are 900 carabiniers in the Republic of Moldova who have the role of maintaining public order. They are also the ones who keep certain buildings, such as embassies.
