Vlad Plahotniuc's Edelweiss Foundation found second beloved teacher in Hâncești
A good teacher is like a parent for the pupils. Mariei Tarasiuc, from Cărpineni village, Hâncești district, fills in that role, she is a biology teacher at the Ștefan Holban Lyceum.
Because she is loved and respected by her pupils, she became the second winner of "Beloved Teacher" competition hosted by Vlad Plahotniuc's Edelweiss Foundation.
"We are representatives of Vlad Plahotniuc's Edelweiss Foundation. Congratulations, your pupils have signed you up for the competition and you have won the title of one of the most beloved teachers" CEO of Edelweiss Foundation, Lidia Cucoş declared.
"There are no words that can express this, as I never expected it to happen. Thank you very much" teacher Maria Tarasiuc responded.
Maria Tarasiuc is teaching biology for over 30 years. The woman claims that her classes lacked a computer. Therefore, Edelweiss Foundation has gifted her one.
The one who fought tooth and nail for her victory was Mihai Caraman. With the help of his friends, he made a 3 minute video expressing his gratitude.
"She won me over because she is truly a very good teacher. We worked for four days and it was tough" pupil Mihai Caraman admitted.
Pupils claim that Madam Maria is like a second mother to them.
"For me, Madam Maria is like a second mother. I respect and love her very much."
"Not only does she teaches us classes, but can also always address to her for advice regarding personal matters, like one would a friend. Even after classes we can always seek her out."
Even the Lyceum's director has words of prise for the beloved teacher.
"She is the teacher that deserves all respect, due her great efforts to work with pupils. This project left me speechless, this beautiful idea to show appreciation for a teacher's work" Ștefan Holban Lyceum's director Tamara Macari declared.
