A citizens of Moldova was arrested for 30 days on suspicion of human trafficking, after officers managed to find evidence proving criminal activity at his house.
The suspect's house was searched and law enforcement managed to find 23 passports of citizens of Republic of Moldova, announcement meant to attract victims, notes and money gained illegally. All seized proofs belonged to people fit for work, as well as many minors.
According to border police, in this criminal scheme, the 41-year-old man from Codru town had the role to recruit people and ensure their transportation to Russia. Once arrived, the victims were made to live in horrid conditions and were forced into slavery.
If found guilty, the suspect risks to spend the next 7 to 15 years behind bars.
