Bailiff and assessor detained by CNA for dirty business
A court bailiff and an assessor were detained by the CNA and anticorruption prosecutors, accused of passive corruption and bribery.
The two underestimated and liquidated more seized goods at a reduced price to obtain money for personal reason.
The bailiff requested 30,000 lei for each of the three seized cars to be auctioned at a price lower than real value, then sold to specific persons.
15,000 lei as the last installment was transferred under the control of the anti-corruption officers, after that the suspect was arrested.
According to the investigation, that evaluator received 3,350 lei to underestimate the three cars.
The two were recognized as suspects and detained for 72 hours.
If found guilty, they risk up to 10 imprisonment with the deprivation of the right to hold certain public functions for a period of 5 to 10 years.
